Dr. Sathya D.,  is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad, Kerala, India. Trained as a historian of colonial India, currently exploring interdisciplinary research on the history of mental health. She is the recipient of the Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) short-term research grant, the Global Girmitya award and the Tamil Nadu Council of Historical Research grant. She has publications in Scopus-indexed journals, UGC CARE-listed journals, an opinion page in a newspaper and her achievements published in a magazine. She served as an assistant professor in the Department of Arts at Koneru Lakshmaiah (KL) University in Andhra Pradesh from 2022 to 2024.
