National BIM & Digital Project Delivery Training Program Launches with First Batch of CPWD Engineers at IIT Palakkad
The inaugural batch comprised 18 engineers from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), marking the beginning of a national capacity-building initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Project Delivery across the public infrastructure sector.
Organized as a part of the MoU with the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), CPWD, and IIT Palakkad, the program is designed to equip engineers with industry-leading digital workflows, collaborative project delivery practices, and BIM-enabled lifecycle management.
The two-day training held at the CDCM lab of the institute focused on enhancing participants' capabilities in digital planning, design coordination, construction management, and asset information management, key enablers for delivering smarter, more efficient, and sustainable public infrastructure.
This first batch represents the start of a broader national initiative to develop a skilled workforce capable of driving India's digital transformation in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) sector.
Together, MoHUA, CPWD, and IIT Palakkad are laying the foundation for the next generation of digitally empowered infrastructure delivery in India.
