Dr. Subha Pal is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, working under the mentorship of Dr. Sarath Sasi. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tezpur University in 2020, focusing on the analysis of the Navier–Stokes equations and related nonlinear partial differential equations. Following his doctoral studies, he served as a Guest Faculty at Tezpur University before joining IIT Palakkad in April 2024.
His current research interests span nonlinear PDEs, the p-Laplacian, fractional Laplacian operators, fluid dynamics, and mathematical models for climate systems. He is particularly interested in qualitative analysis, asymptotic behavior, and attractor theory for dissipative dynamical systems. Dr. Pal has authored several research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and continues to work at the interface of theoretical analysis and applied mathematical modeling.

Research
Dr. Subha Pal’s research focuses on the mathematical analysis of partial differential equations (PDEs) arising in fluid dynamics, with an emphasis on Navier–Stokes equations, fractional dissipative systems, and nonlinear eigenvalue problems. His work combines rigorous analytical techniques from functional analysis, spectral theory, and dynamical systems to address fundamental questions of existence, uniqueness, regularity, and long-term behavior of solutions.
During his doctoral studies at Tezpur University, Dr. Pal investigated Navier–Stokes equations with slip boundary conditions, establishing well-posedness results and generalized energy inequalities that are relevant in micro- and nano-fluidics. His subsequent independent research extends to time-fractional Navier–Stokes models and systems with fractional dissipation, where he has identified critical dissipation exponents, proven the existence of global attractors, and derived sharp dimension bounds for turbulent flows.
Dr. Pal has published his findings in respected peer-reviewed journals, including Acta Mathematica Scientia, Rocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, and Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computing. His research bridges abstract mathematical theory with physically motivated models, contributing to both the advancement of mathematical analysis and its applications in fluid mechanics and related fields. -
