IIT Palakkad Organises Vigyan Pratibha Workshop for Science Teachers

IIT Palakkad organised a 3-day Vigyan Pratibha workshop for the Science teachers from Palakkad in collaboration with IMSc, Chennai.  40 teachers participated in the workshop. The resource persons included Prof. Sujith from NIT, Calicut, Prof. Sasidevan from CUSAT, Dr. Varuni Prabhakar and Mr. Akshay Keloth from IMSc, Chennai, Mr. Srinivasan Kartha from Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad and Prof. Vijayan from IIT Palakkad. They took the teachers through a series of engaging sessions including hands-on activities that encouraged the teachers to question the truth of the story of the Thirsty Crow, demonstrations explaining natural phenomena such as the phases of the moon, and thought-provoking talks on Science education. Mr. Asif Aliyar KAS, the District Education Officer (DEO) Palakkad and the President of the Jilla Panchayat attended one of the sessions, interacted with the participating teachers, and appreciated the initiative.
