AICTE QIP PG Certificate Programme on 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing 

Course Overview and Objectives: The AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme on 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing is a comprehensive 6-month, 200-hour blended course designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial application. Coordinated by IIT Palakkad, this programme equips faculty members and industry professionals with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills across polymer, metal, and bioprinting technologies. Participants will learn core concepts such as Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), preprocessing, and post-processing techniques, ultimately empowering them to integrate these cutting-edge practices into engineering curricula, lead organizational research, and drive innovation.

Course Structure and Features: Running from July 2026 to December 2026, the curriculum features a hybrid structure comprising 22 days of intensive on-campus offline sessions at IIT Palakkad, alongside 128 days of flexible online learning and NPTEL courses. Attendees will gain valuable hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art 3D printing lab using industrial-grade equipment (such as EOS M290 and Ultimaker systems) and advanced simulation software. Led by expert faculty and industry mentors, the programme emphasizes project-based learning with a capstone prototyping project, virtual factory insights, and an alignment with the "Make in India" initiative to foster self-reliance in advanced manufacturing.
