Auburn University Delegation visits IIT Palakkad 

IIT Palakkad was pleased to host a distinguished delegation from Auburn University, USA on 23rd January 2026. The delegation included, Dr. Ash Abebe, Interim Dean of the Graduate School; William P. Molette, Professor of Mathematics and Statistics; Dr. Muralikrishnan Dhanasekaran, Administrative Fellow and Alumni Professor, Graduate School; Dr. Ashish Gupta, PhD Program Coordinator and Globe Life Professor of Analytics, Harbert College of Business and Dr. Sheena Stewart, Director of Professional Development, Graduate School.

The delegates met with Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad, who warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the institute’s vision for global engagement. The delegation also interacted with faculty members across departments, where both institutions expressed strong interest in potential research collaborations, faculty exchange programmes, joint workshops or seminars in the coming months, and the initiation of an official MoU.

An engaging and interactive session on “Research Excellence with Professional Impact” was conducted for students, during which the Auburn University team showcased higher education opportunities at Auburn University and engaged in one-on-one discussions with participants.

The visit was highly impactful at both the student level and the institutional level, laying a strong foundation for sustained academic collaboration between IIT Palakkad and Auburn University.
