A new patent has been granted to IIT Palakkad, marking another significant milestone in the institute’s journey of innovation.The patent, titled "Fabrication Method of Electrochemical Sensor from Used LCDs," is the result of the work of Dr. Abdul Rasheed P, DBT Ramalingaswami Fellow, Biological Sciences and Engineering; Dr. Praveena Gangadharan, Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering and  ESSENCE, Mr. Vaishag P.V., Former Research Assistant, Biological Sciences and Engineering and Ms. Sabarija A. Mohandas, Research Scholar, Civil Engineering. The invention introduces a novel method for developing electrodes for electrochemical sensors by repurposing discarded liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
