IIT Palakkad and the University of Liverpool embark on Joint Endeavors to foster Research and Academic Collaborations
IIT Palakkad signed a general MoU with the University of Liverpool on 26 June, 2024 to engage faculty and initiate bilateral research collaborations. A fruitful discussion with Prof. Tariq Ali, Pro-Vice-chancellor for Global Engagement and Partnerships from the University of Liverpool identified four research areas, namely, Maritime and Ocean Engineering, Renewable Energy, Computer Science and Health, and Biomedical Science and Engineering. IIT Palakkad and the University of Liverpool shall explore the possibility of joint PhD programs and student faculty exchange initiatives.
The discussion with Mr. Midhu Unnithan, COO, Technology Innovation foundation of IIT Palakkad (TECHIN) and Dr. Saishyam Narayanan, CEO, Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF) aided in analyzing the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem at IIT Palakkad. “This partnership underscores our mutual commitment to advancing research and promoting academic growth”, said Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad. The interaction also ensured a bilateral partnership to foster joint research and academic initiatives between the Physics faculties of IIT Palakkad and the University of Liverpool.
