IIT Palakkad participates in the UNESCO-India-Africa (UIA) Study in India Education Fair

Recently, a Study in India Education Fair was hosted to showcase the Indian higher education system to Higher Education Institutes in Africa. The event ran from 22nd - 25th November at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, UP. The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India and UNESCO organised this UNESCO-India-Africa (UIA) Study in India Education Fair and also conducted a Hackathon under the aegis.

The UIA Hackathon was a first-of-its-kind initiative during which the best young minds from 22 African countries, including Ethiopia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya, Mauritius, Namibia, Zimbabwe,Niger and Malawi collaborated with talent in India to conceptualise innovative technology-based solutions for the daunting problems faced by these countries. This programme had 300+ student participants along with 60 officials from various African countries travelling to India to participate in this initiative.  
 
Considering the scale and reach of the event, and the profile of the stakeholders, it proved a great opportunity to promote Indian Higher Education and Premier Indian Institutes abroad. IIT Palakkad drew enthusiastic crowds of African students to its stall
