Staff Workshop on "Celebrating Work" conducted at IIT Palakkad

The Institute's Wellness hub and Team Mitra organised a Staff Workshop on the theme "Celebrating Work" on Friday. October 14th, on both campuses  -- Nila and Ahalia, of the Institute. Mr Sony Thomas - Life Coach & Mentor was the resource person. A total of 62 staff members attended the workshop organised separately in the forenoon and afternoon on each campus. 

The workshop urged reflection on the quote "Choose a job you love, and you won't have to work for a single day in your life". While everyone agreed with the quote, deeper reflection on what happens when work is not what you love, but what pays the bills was encouraged. A team juggling exercise drove home the message that work is fun when done together. The 'Memory wall' activity had collaborative drawing in small groups, of the cherished memories and small joys that Staff members felt made working at IIT Palakkad, a celebration.

A big shout out to the Institute Counsellors Dr Tessy Grace Mathews and Ms. Arya Aravind, Chairperson of Wellness Hub, Prof. Jagadeesh Bayry, faculty-in-charge (Mitra), Dr Kusum Dhochak, Registrar-in-charge Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Team CFET, Team EWD and Shakthi's Kitchen for the behind-the-scenes work, collaboration and  organising that gave shape to the Workshop. The participation of the Institute's enthused and engaged Staff made all the difference, applause for them!
