Battle of Bands Competition (BOB 3.0) Vadya

The pandemic has kept us apart for more than a year now, but Vadya decided to break the barrier of distance and connect all the students of IIT Palakkad through the only thing that’s food to the soul, Music.

Vadya organized the much-awaited third edition of the Battle of Bands (BOB 3.0), where all the music enthusiasts of the Institute from UG and PG both, come together, form bands, and face-off in a breath-taking competition. For the first time ever, we are proud to announce that the event has been conducted completely online.
 
After a very interesting round of auction, we saw our adept students forming up five different bands, and practicing hard day and night despite the extremely difficult situation. No distance, no amount of hardship could stop the bands from coming together, and finally the wait was over on 30th July (Friday) 4:30 pm.
 
All the submission of the bands were live streamed on the YouTube channel of ‘The Happenings IIT Palakkad’. The overwhelming response of the audience really proved how huge a success it was. It felt amazing to find the audience so happy and no wonder, because each and every performance was worth all the praise they showered. it goes without mention that it was a tough battle and it was really inspiring to see all the bands put such mind-blowing performances amidst all the challenges. I think being able to do that makes each and every band a winner already!
 
However, the star of the show were our judges, the extremely talented band ‘V Minor’. They performed live right after the display was over, and oh! How beautiful it was, how soothing! The audience thoroughly enjoyed their performance and it was such a great experience!
 
Finally, the judges announced the results of the competition. The band Forgotten Stars (Harsh, Gourav, Aniket, Joel, Abhichal, Ishmita, Ankit, Rituraj) emerged as winner, followed by Hiraeth (Jyothiraditya, Jayant, Anand, Parul, Angel, Haritha, Thacchan, Shrujan, Aravind, Sai Sathwik), and Senfoni (Olivia, Shivansh, Rithwik, Sabareesh, Tripti, Aswin, Harsh, Jeswin).
 
The success of the online event surpassed all expectations and it was a beautiful relief amidst the hard times. Let’s hope that we see many more editions of the Battle of Band in years to come.
