IIT Palakkad is a NSM (National Supercomputing Mission) Nodal Centre for Training in HPC and AI. As a Nodal Centre, we are tasked with training people (faculty, researchers, industry persons, and students) to use HPC and AI based technologies and techniques to solve the challenges they are excited about, and of national importance. To manage the HPC and other system related activities, we are hiring a Senior Project Engineer/System Administrator. The position is purely temporary for six months and may be extended depending on the project fund availability.

Eligibility :
MCA/BE/B.Tech (CS/IT) or Equivalent with First Class from a recognised university.
Experience:
At least 5 years experience in Linux System Administration with domain specific expertise in one or more areas (1) Linux with RHCE certification or (2) Linux with HPC sysadmin experience (High Performance Computing systems, Large scale distributed storage servers or Parallel file systems).
Job Profile:
- The following are the primary tasks
- Maintaining the HPC with high uptime
- HPC queue management and policies
- Managing HPC software licenses and user accounts management.
- Managing HPC storage and networking.
- Support for NSM training and other related activities.
- Overall system administration duties
- Helping users in fundamental programming, compiling and executions, debugging etc.
Selection Procedure:
The selection will be based on a written exam as well as an interview. The details of the same will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates separately. Shortlisting will be done based on the resume submitted as mentioned below. Since this is an urgent requirement, the selected candidate will have to join the Institute within one month from the date of offer.

Job description and Key responsibilities:
- To act as an interface/coordinator between IIT Palakkad, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and Panchayati Raj Institutions
- To assist in providing a platform to provide students and faculty to design specific programs of social relevance and sensitivity
- All official works related to the implementation of various programmes connected with UBA
- Maintaining accounts related to the implementation of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan activities
- Coordination of Participating Institutes (PIs) under RCI IIT Palakad
- Coordination of fieldwork in the villages adopted under UBA
- Communicating with the Government Agencies/ Universities / corporate promoters
- Publicizing UBA activities with other educational institutes
- Ensure submission of periodical reports by PIs and RCI
- Any other duties as assigned by the Institute from time to time.
