The Department of Mathematics launched the Summer Training Programme in Mathematics (STPM) in 2024. We are pleased to present its second edition in 2025. The primary aim of this program is to identify young minds who are at the entry-level of mathematics, motivate and groom them to be competent enough to solve some of the challenging problems in mathematics. Towards achieving this goal, the workshop will give focused and concentrated training by conducting interactive sessions in core mathematics wherein the participants will be prompted to learn mathematics by doing it themselves.

India’s sanitation ecosystem is rapidly shifting gears towards adopting sustainable sanitation solutions that ensure equitable environmental and societal benefits. Considering this national priority, the Global Sanitation Center of Excellence (GSCOE) at IIT Palakkad is committed to identifying gaps and developing innovative sanitation solutions that benefit our living environment and communities.

This workshop covers  Molecular Dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations, two of the most powerful computational physics tools. Harnessing the parallel processing power of GPUs one can significantly accelerate these simulations, enabling the study of larger and more complex systems. User-friendly software packages, HOOMD and OpenMM, allow researchers to leverage the GPU acceleration without extensive coding expertise.
