From Prototypes to Animation: AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programmes on 3D Printing and Robotics at IIT Palakkad
The AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programmes on ‘3D Printing’ organised by Department of Mechanical engineering and on ‘Robotics’ organised by Department of Electrical engineering were jointly inaugurated on June 30, 2025 at IIT Palakkad. The programmes were intended to improve the capabilities of professionals and faculty members in the emerging areas of 3D printing and Robotics. This initiative, supported by AICTE under the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP), reflects a national effort to strengthen academic excellence and promote industry-relevant research across engineering institutions.
The programmes are coordinated through the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of IIT Palakkad responsible for organising courses and workshops focused on skill development for students, faculty, and professionals across various disciplines. The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Kesavan D., Course Coordinator for the 3D Printing module. This was followed by the inaugural address by Prof. Santhakumar Mohan, Director In-charge, and a guest address by Dr. Athira P., Dean Academics.
