Sun, 21st Jun, 2020 - 12:00 am
The Institute has developed an automated lung ultrasound (LUS) for COVID-19 screening and monitoring through cloud-based image analysis and scoring system using image processing and machine learning techniques.

The technology and the App, the first of its kind in India (did not see any LUS work reported globally as well), is now available for clinicians to perform automated analysis by just uploading the ultrasound video.

The Project Principal Investigator is Dr. Mahesh R Panicker (Electrical Engineering Department) and clinical partners are La Paz Hospital, Madrid, Spain, Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram and Government Medical College, Kottayam, Kerala. The project is supported by the CSR fund of Federal bank.
