IIT Palakkad’s IPTIF (IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation) has successfully concluded UYARE (Unified Youth Advancement for Research and Entrepreneurship), a six-month residential training program aimed at empowering tribal youth and students with essential skills in product development and entrepreneurship. Supported by the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, the program focused on holistic personality development alongside technical skill-building in areas such as mechanical design, electronics, programming, 3D printing, robotics, and digital fabrication. Participants were given hands-on training in industry-relevant tools and technologies, including Fusion 360, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Python programming, image processing, PCB design, and basic electronics, providing a comprehensive introduction to cutting-edge domains.

The valedictory function was graced by Ms. Priyanka G., IAS, District Collector of Palakkad, as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad. Both highlighted the importance of such initiatives in empowering rural communities and enhancing youth employability. Dr. Vijay Muralidharan, Project Director of IPTIF, and Dr. B.V. Ramesh, Registrar of IIT Palakkad, also addressed the gathering. UYARE reflects IPTIF’s broader mission to create an industry-ready, skilled youth workforce that contributes meaningfully to India’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in emerging technologies.
