MS Thesis: Numerical Study on the Effects of Wind Load on Floating Solar Panel Arrays
This study utilizes integrated 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, performed with ANSYS Fluent, to examine the aerodynamic performance (drag and lift forces) of two floating solar panel configurations: Monoslope and Pitched. The panels are situated on static water bodies, such as reservoirs. The research investigates these forces under various environmental conditions, specifically focusing on different wind speeds and wind directions. Additionally, the study employs multiphase flow analysis to assess the effects of wind-induced waves on both the solar panels and their supporting systems.
