IIT Palakkad is organizing  the Quantum Century Talks to celebrate 100 years of achievements in quantum mechanics.The event will begin with IIT Palakkad's public lecture series Pale Blue Dot, which will be presented by Prof. Rejish Nath from IISER Pune (this talk will be mostly in Malayalam). Two talks will be presented by Dr. Uma Divakaran and Dr. Arvind Ajoy on theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum technology. This is organised in partnership with LUCA science portal, Palakkad Public Library, KSSP and UBA.

IIT Palakkad is all set to celebrate its Institute Day on 17th January 2025, marking a decade of transformative education, research, and impactful contributions to society. This milestone event celebrates the institute's journey from its inception in 2015 to becoming a beacon of knowledge and innovation.

There are many interesting day-to-day examples of how good information design elicits positive social outcomes. Examples include information design at traffic lights, in ride-hailing apps, in online ratings of e-commerce products and services, and in fund-raising drives. We will discuss the modeling and the simple analyses behind some of these, and will demonstrate how mathematics can positively impact social systems.
