Isaac Asimov is reported to have described the invention of the integrated circuit (IC) as 'the most important moment since human emerged as a life form'. Although it sounds exaggerated (when IC is compared with sliced bread :) ), 95% of last year's worldwide semiconductor revenue (~$460 billion) was from ICs. The concept of an IC as in its present form was considered technologically not feasible by Bell Labs (where transistor was invented and home to 6 other Nobel prizes in Physics). Circuit designers saw it as a threat to their livelihood and resisted its use when it was introduced.

Based on a detailed study of the bacterial Shiga toxin we discuss the membrane mediated interactions between membrane inclusions. Shiga toxin interacts with its cellular receptor, the glycosphingolipid globotriaosylceramide (Gb3 or CD77), as a first step to entering target cells. This is followed by clustering of the Shiga Toxin-receptor complexes at the membrane and tubular invagination into the cytoplasm of the cell.

Abstract: The next generation of robots are going to work much more closely with humans, other robots and interact significantly with the environment around it. As a result, the key paradigms are shifting from isolated decision making systems to one that involves shared control -- with significant autonomy devolved to the robot platform; and end-users in the loop making only high level decisions.

Antennas for Modern Wireless and Remote Sensing  Applications - An event that will orient the participants regarding the various recent developments and technologies in the field of Antennas including 5G, DIELECTRIC RESONATOR ANTENNAS, MICROWAVE REMOTE SENSING SYSTEMS, PHASED ARRAY ANTENNAS, MILLIMETER WAVE MICRO MACHINED ANTENNAS, SATELLITE COMMUNICATION ANTENNAS  facilitated with the opportunity of direct interaction with the domain experts.
