SATVA 2026 Commences at IIT Palakkad
The Symposium on Advanced Technologies and Visionary Approaches for Sustainability (SATVA 2026) commences at IIT Palakkad. The three-day symposium, being held from June 4 - 6, 2026, is organized by the Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Engineering Centre (ESSENCE), IIT Palakkad, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI Palakkad Chapter) and the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS Palakkad Chapter). This year's theme, “Pavement Sustainability Frontiers: From Materials to Maintenance,” focuses on innovative, resilient, and sustainable approaches across the lifecycle of transportation infrastructure.
The formal event was inaugurated by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad. Dr. C.V. Veena Venudharan, Chairperson, SATVA delivered the welcome address. Mr. G. Parasuraman, Managing Director, IRSM ( Indian Road Survey and Management) addressed the gathering. A key highlight of the inaugural session was the signing of an MoU between IIT Palakkad and IRSM to foster innovation and capacity building in transportation. A commemorative memento was also unveiled to mark the partnership.
Er. S. Jayakrishnan, Chairman, IEI and Dr. Anil Joseph, President, IGS and Dr. Arun C.O., Vice-Chairperson, CCE and Mr. Arvind Ajoy, Dean ICSR, addressed the gathering and shared their perspectives on advancing sustainability through collaborative efforts. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Deepak Jaiswal, Assistant Professor, ESSENCE.
SATVA 2026 will feature keynote lectures by eminent experts, invited talks from academia and industry, technical paper and poster presentations, panel discussions, and a cultural evening.
