Patent Granted !

An Indian Patent has been granted to the research group of Dr. Afzaal Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Jibin Boban, former Research Scholar, Department of Mechanical Engineering, for their invention titled “A Method for Manufacturing a Fresnel Lens and a Fresnel Lens Thereof.”

This patent presents a novel manufacturing method for fabricating Fresnel lenses with superior nano-finish and high dimensional accuracy from custom-designed drawing data, even when the equation defining the lens profile or the mathematical coefficients are unavailable.
