New Autonomous Mobile Agricultural Fruit Harvesting Robot
Recent research by Divyansh Khare (IIT Palakkad), Sandra C (KPIT Bangalore), and Santhakumar Mohan (IIT Palakkad) focuses on the design and development of a novel autonomous mobile agricultural fruit harvesting robot. The work attempts to explore the challenges in the design and control of such a robot and further proposes a novel design to combat the challenges with increased functionality.
A preliminary part of this research was first published in the book ‘Mechanism Design for Robotics’ as a part of the proceedings of the 5th IFToMM Symposium on Mechanism Design for Robotics, MEDER 2021, held in Poitiers, France, 23–25 June 2021, where it was selected for a mention in the special issue of MEDER 2021 in the International Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science (JMES). The present research work is in continuation of the previous conference paper and dives deeper into the investigation.
