Minister for Electricity, GoK, Mr. K Krishnan Kutty visits IIT Palakkad

We were honored to have Mr. K Krishnan Kutty, the honourable Minister for Electricity, Govt. of Kerala in our campus today. He was received by Director Prof. Seshadri Sekhar, deans, and other heads of departments.
During his visit, he discussed the ongoing energy crisis in the state and explored the possibilities of harnessing alternative sources of energy. During the course of the discussions, the minister emphasized the pressing need for research in low-cost electricity production. He expressed keen interest in establishing a research park that would serve as a valuable resource, providing important insights and recommendations to the government for future developments.
The Minister also encouraged IIT Palakkad to fully explore the untapped potential of Kerala's water resources and water bodies for hydro-electric power production. He detailed the government's plan to organize a meeting in the near future, where experts from IIT Palakkad will be invited to collaborate with the government to advance these initiatives.
