Journal Chemistry Recognizes Dr. Shanmugaraju & Team for Innovative Research

Mon, 26th Feb, 2024 - 06:45 pm

Recent research by Dr. Shanmugaraju and his team, titled "Differential Fluorescent Chemosensing of Antibiotics Using a Luminescent Zn(II) Coordination Polymer Based on a 4-Amino-1,8-naphthalimide Tröger’s Base Fluorophore," has been selected as the editor's choice and featured on the cover page of the prestigious journal "Chemistry."

The study introduces a new nanoscale fluorescent Zn(II) coordination polymer developed by the team for the trace detection of antibiotics in water. The extensive use of antibiotics by living systems has led to their large accumulation in water streams and the environment. This poses serious risks to human health and environmental well-being. We anticipate that the findings will contribute positively to both human health and environmental well-being.

Congratulations to Dr. Shanmugaraju S, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Ms. Noushija M K, Ph.D. Student, and Ms. Purti Patel, M.Sc. Student for this recognition!
