Indian National Science Academy honour for IIT-PKD Founding Director

Prof. P. B. Sunil Kumar has been elected as a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) for the period effective 1 January 2023. In its felicitation, the Academy noted "Prof. Sunil Kumar has made significant contributions to our understanding of lateral organisation and factors that determine shapes of multi-component fluid membranes as well as to the organisation of cytoskeletal filaments. He was instrumental in the development of computational models that allow for simulation of membranes with anisotropic inclusions, active fluctuations and hydrodynamic interactions."
