IIT Palakkad’s First-Ever Alumni Reunion: Celebrating 10 Years Together

IIT Palakkad hosted its First Alumni Reunion, marking a memorable milestone as the institute celebrates ten years of its journey. Alumni, faculty,  staff and students came together on campus for a warm and engaging day of reflection and reconnection.

The formal session opened with introductions and an invocation, followed by welcome remarks from Dr. Deepak Rajendraprasad, Dean (Students), and an address by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar,  Director of IIT Palakkad. A special highlight was the screening of the “10 Years of IIT Palakkad” video, presented exclusively for the alumni, relishing memories and connection. 

The gathering featured an address by Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhan Theagarajan, the first Faculty-in-Charge of International and Alumni Relations, an inspiring talk by Dr. M. Subramaniam, IIT Madras alumnus and Vice President of the IITM Alumni Association and former senior faculty members. 

Alumni then shared their experiences in an interactive session, followed by an open floor for meaningful Faculty–Alumni discussions. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Subrahmanyam Mula, Faculty-in-Charge (IAR), and a group photograph capturing the spirit of the institute’s first homecoming.

The formal event was followed by a vibrant cultural evening, featuring performances by staff, students and alumni, adding warmth and colour to the celebration.
