IIT Palakkad successfully hosted the SPARC GIANT Indo-German Workshop on Additive Manufactured Bio-Implants!

Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Palakkad recently organised a one-day workshop titled “Additive Manufactured Bio-Implants: Approaches, Trends & Challenges” under the SPARC GIANT Indo-German collaborative initiative. The event brought together leading experts from academia, healthcare, and industry to discuss advancements and real-world challenges in additive manufacturing for biomedical applications.

We were honoured to host distinguished speakers:

  • Prof. Henning Zeidler, Chair for Additive Manufacturing, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany
  • Dr. Mahesh Kappanayil, Professor of Paediatric Cardiology, Amrita Hospital, Kochi
  • Mr. Vijay K, Director, Jayon Implants Pvt. Ltd. & Adler Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.

Their insightful talks covered emerging technologies, clinical needs, and industrial perspectives in the development of next-generation bio-implants using additive manufacturing.
