In a significant move towards strengthening electric mobility workforce, the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ICICI Foundation for the development and establishment of a dedicated Electric Vehicle (EV) Skilling Facility at the IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF).

Under this initiative, ICICI Foundation extended financial support through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to create a state-of-the-art EV skilling infrastructure aimed at developing industry-ready talent. The facility will focus on hands-on training, practical exposure, and employability-driven programs in electric mobility technologies.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad, and Mr. Girish S, Regional Head, ICICI Foundation, in the presence of senior officials from IIT Palakkad, IPTIF, and ICICI Foundation.

The event was attended by Dr. Arvind Ajoy, Dean – Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research (ICSR); Dr. Saishyam Narayanan, CEO, IPTIF; and Mr. Sajith V, Project Manager, ICICI Foundation, Dr. Vivek Chaturvedi, Associate Dean – ICSR; Dr. Nelson Muthu, Faculty In-Charge – Academia-Industry Collaboration; Dr. Rijesh Krishna, COO, IPTIF; Mr. Midhu Unnithan, COO, TechIn; Mr. Shanmugam, Joint Registrar – Finance & Accounts; and Dr. Selvapandian, Industry Liaison Officer.

The ICICI Foundation delegation included senior representatives such as Mr. Gireesh S, Regional Head – South Region, ICICI Foundation; Mr. Sajith V.S, Project Manager – Kerala & Tamil Nadu, ICICI Foundation; Mr. Leo Rajan, Development Officer – Kerala, ICICI Foundation; Mr. Muthukumar, Zonal Head – Retail, Thrissur Zone, ICICI Bank; Mr. Rex Bob Arun, Zonal Head – TASC & GBG, Kerala, ICICI Bank; and Mr. Rajeev K.T, Branch Manager, Kanjikode Branch, ICICI Bank.
