IIT Palakkad Signs MoU with BIS Kochi for Research and Academic Collaboration

Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Kochi to foster collaboration in research and academic activities. The MoU signing ceremony was conducted in hybrid mode.

The event was attended in person on the IIT Palakkad campus by Shri Narender Reddy Beesu, Scientist ‘E’ and Director & Head of BIS Kochi; Ms Hemalatha P Panicker, Scientist ‘E’, BIS Kochi; Ms Linsha Vijayan, Consultant (Standardization); and Mr Sagar Pillai, Consultant (Standardization). The ceremony was also attended by Dr Arvind Ajoy, Dean (ICSR), Dr Vivek Chaturvedi, Associate Dean (ICSR), Dr Sabarimalai Manikanda and Dr Praveena Gangadharan, Faculty Champions, and Dr Selvapandian, Industry Liaison Officer.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. A.Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad, and Shri Narender Reddy Beesu, Director and Head of the BIS Kochi in the presence of Shri Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble Minister of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Government of India, and Shri B. L. Verma, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, who joined the event through video conference.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen cooperation between IIT Palakkad and BIS in the areas of standardization, research, and academic engagement.
