IIT Palakkad shines at 58th Inter-IIT Sports Meet

Competing against 23 IITs, the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad delivered an impressive performance at the 58th Inter-IIT Sports Meet, reaffirming its growing presence in national-level collegiate sports. The institute secured 5th position in Athletics (Men’s category) and 17th position overall, reflecting consistent effort and competitive strength across events.

 

P. Sainath Reddy, a fourth-year B.Tech student of Mechanical Engineering, won the Gold Medal in the 100 metres (Men) event, emerging as the fastest runner. 

 

The 4×100 metres men’s relay team, comprising M. Kishore (Computer Science and Engineering), Ajul Mohammed (Mechanical Engineering), Tej Pattan Shetty (Electrical Engineering), and B. Rajesh (Computer Science and Engineering), secured the Silver Medal.

 

In field events, Ajay Kumar Jena, Ph.D. scholar in Electrical Engineering, won the Bronze Medal in Discus Throw. Rajan, a fourth-year B.Tech student of Civil Engineering, finished fourth in Discus Throw, while CH Akshay, a second-year B.Tech student of Computer Science and Engineering, placed fourth in Hammer Throw.
