IIT Palakkad Research Scholar’s Project has been selected by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council for YIP 2019-2022

The innovative idea “Eye-movement based Speller System” proposed by IIT Palakkad Research Scholars, Praveen K Parashiva and Madhavanunni A N, has been selected as one among hundred best innovative ideas by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) for the Young Innovation Programme, YIP 2019 – 2022. The project proposed by the research scholars mentored by Professor Vinod Prasad aims to develop an assistive communication device which will enable paralyzed patients to type letters on a monitor using a virtual keyboard controlled by eye movements. The scholars will receive the award from the Chief Minister of Kerala in a function which will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on 23 January 2020 – First Kerala Innovation Day. The award comprises of a grant and 3-years mentorship by Kerala Startup Mission.
