IIT Palakkad Hosts Talk on Human-Allied AI in Healthcare

The Mehta School of Data Science and AI, IIT Palakkad, conducted an engaging talk by Sriraam Natarajan, Professor and Director of the Center for Machine Learning at the University of Texas at Dallas, on the role of human-allied AI in healthcare. Prof.Sriraam is also part of the International Advisory council of the School and is an MFF CARE Faculty Advisor.

The talk highlighted AI-driven approaches for predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes and supporting decision-making in pediatric critical care, particularly for ECMO patients. Emphasizing transparency, interpretability, and collaboration between clinicians and AI systems, the session showcased how AI can augment human expertise in high-stakes clinical environments while remaining trustworthy and clinically meaningful.
