Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad and Autodesk in India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance skill development in the DesignandMake industries. The milestone collaboration, formalized by Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad, and Smitha Raghunathan, Interim Regional Director of Autodesk India & SAARC, aims to drive immersive learning, research collaboration, and curriculum innovation in architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), and design and manufacturing.

The signing ceremony took place at Autodesk India corporate headquarters in Bengaluru, marking a significant step towards establishing a Center of Excellence (CoE) and a dedicated Digital Construction Laboratory on the IIT Palakkad campus. With access to Autodesk’s cloud-based DesignandMake platforms, students, faculty, and industry partners will engage in hands-on learning and practical applications of new-age design technologies such as building information modeling (BIM), generative design, and additive manufacturing.
