A Breakthrough in Imaging : Patent awarded to IIT Palakkad

A new patent has been granted to IIT Palakkad for an innovative imaging technology titled: “Array Adaptive Ultrasound Apparatus for Variable Field of View Imaging”. The Inventors of this invention are Dr. Mahesh R. Panicker; former Associate Professor,  Mr. Pisharody Harikrishnan Gopalakrishnan; Technical Superintendent and research scholar, Mr. Madhavanunni A N; research scholar and Ms. Gayathri Malamal; research scholar, from the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The technology features a flexible array of transducer elements capable of dynamically adjusting its curvature between convex, linear, or concave configurations to support high frame-rate imaging across varying fields of view. The integrated probe delivers real-time, high-resolution images, making it suitable for medical diagnostics, underwater imaging, and non-destructive testing.
