AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme on 3D Printing commenced at IIT Palakkad
The six-month, AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme on 3D Printing, commenced at IIT Palakkad. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Director of IIT Palakkad, Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, who delivered the presidential address. The event also featured Dr. Samarjeet Chanda, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, who elaborated on the department's key features to the participants.
The programme is aimed at training faculty members from core engineering disciplines and is offered in a hybrid format-one month in person and the remaining five months online. The offline sessions will continue until July 16, 2024, featuring participation from 46 esteemed faculty members representing Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, and Production Engineering departments from various colleges. Following the offline sessions, the programme will transition to an online format until December, with another offline session in mid-December.
The curriculum, designed to provide a robust blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, encompasses a wide array of topics in 3D printing. This programme is set to significantly enhance the participants' expertise and their ability to integrate advanced manufacturing technologies into their academic and professional endeavors, and this training in emerging technologies will enhance their teaching effectiveness.
