SPIC MACAY Program- Hindustani Flute Recital

SPIC MACAY, IIT Palakkad Chapter presents Hindustani Flute Lecture Demonstration by Pandit Ronu Majumdar. Pandit Ronu Majumdar is an Indian Flautist who is a disciple of Late  Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao ji and  Pandit Lakshman Prasad JaipurWaale. A powerhouse performer, Ronu Majumdar is firmly rooted in the Maihar gharana which has also given shape to sturdy musical oaks like Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.

Ronu ji received various awards like All India Radio Award , Aditya Vikram Birla Award in the year 1999, Sangeet Natak Academy Award 2014 & Lifetime Achievement Award by Navbharat Times, National Kumar Gandharva Award in the year 2006, and Pandit Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar in the year 2008. He has also been nominated for the grammy for the album ‘Tabula Rasa’ with Bela Fleck & others.
