Persistent homology as a tool for Topological data analysis and some of its applications

Abstract: How can we detect the shape of data? Does the shape have some meaning? In this talk, use of topological tools in data analysis, specifically to identify the shape of the data with the help of homological concepts, like persistent homology, will be introduced. Some examples will also be discussed.
