Cultural Events

 Team Mitra is observing Women's Day on campus with a few activities. There will be a short film screening, Share Your Story & Fun Games. The films are in English and the genre of positive psychology or resilience building. People will be sharing inspiring stories of women who influenced their lives. Additionally, there will be fun games and activities designed to promote laughter, teamwork, and camaraderie among attendees.

Chau dance is a genre of Indian tribal martial dance popular in the Indian states of Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Based on the places of its origin and development, it is called Seraikella Chhau, Mayubhanj Chhau and Purulia Chhau. Chau is associated with the Chait Parab that is celebrated in the festive spaces of local Shiva temples in Purulia around April/May every year.  A variety of drums accompany the music ensemble including dhol, dhumsa and kharka. Colorful masks are used to depict various characters.

Brief: The logo is intended for the Wellness Hub. The 4 components of the Wellness Hub of our Institute are Mitra - Counseling service, Sports, Yoga, and Cultural activities. 

Theme: The logo should portray the concept of Wellness/Well-being in general. It can also streamline and reflect the aspects of reaching out /helping out(Counseling), fitness(sport and yoga), and cultural aspects as multiple components in the same logo.

We welcome you all to the Carnatic Vocal Concert by Abhishek Raghuram as part of SPICMACAY. Abhishek Raghuram started learning mridangam from his grandfather and then moved on to vocal training under P. S. Narayanaswamy. In 1999, he gave his first international concert tour in the United States with his grandfather, Palghat Raghu.

SPIC MACAY, IIT Palakkad Chapter presents Hindustani Flute Lecture Demonstration by Pandit Ronu Majumdar. Pandit Ronu Majumdar is an Indian Flautist who is a disciple of Late  Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao ji and  Pandit Lakshman Prasad JaipurWaale. A powerhouse performer, Ronu Majumdar is firmly rooted in the Maihar gharana which has also given shape to sturdy musical oaks like Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.

Two events under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program will be held on 27 March in the auditorium from 5:30 PM.

1) Students from Telangana will perform and present some aspects of the Haryanvi culture. Coordinator: Surakshith Reddy

2) Ugadi Celebrations by Punjabi students. Coordinator: Gunjan Kataria
