IIT Palakkad Hosts Its Seventh Convocation as the Institute Completes a Decade of Excellence

The Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad celebrated its 7th convocation ceremony for the graduating batch of 2025 on 19 July 2025. The event was solemnized at the Institute’s Agora Auditorium. Honourable Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. This convocation was especially significant as it was held  as the institute completed a decade of its establishment in 2015. IIT Palakkad by the Government of India in 2015, making it a moment of pride and reflection for the entire institute community. Shri Ramesh Venkateswaran, Chairman of the Board of Governors, presided over the function. Prof. A. Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad, conferred degrees on the graduating students, while Shri Dharmendra Pradhan presented medals to meritorious students for their scholastic excellence.

 

A total of 328 degrees were awarded across various disciplines, including 151 B.Tech., 71 M.Tech., 55 M.Sc., 13 MS, 8 Dual Degree, and 30 PhD degrees. Among the distinguished medal winners were Neeraj Krishna N from Computer Science and Engineering, who received the institute medal for the Best B.Tech. Student. Vimal Sreekanth from the Department of Physics bagged the medal for the Best M.Sc. Student and Sivakami Devi M from Geotechnical Engineering was awarded the medal for the Best M.Tech. Student.
